Free Form Fitness is excited to announce our new Youth Fitness Package! This was created after hearing from a number of our clients that their teens and pre-teens were having a hard time with the lockdowns. A global pandemic has changed the way they are doing school, their access to organized sports, and their ability to hang out with friends. If we look back at those years of our lives, we cannot even begin to imagine what it would be like. So that’s why we have created an 8-session specialized fitness package for this age-group, and we hope that it will have a positive impact and their lives.

Program Breakdown

To help out you, the parents, as well as these kids we decided to create a special personal training package. The youth fitness package includes a free consultation, 7 personal training sessions, and a mindfulness/mental health check-in. If you are a client of ours you will be familiar with the first 2 but the mindfulness and mental health check-in is something new.

Part of our commitment to the overall health of our clients in 2021 includes a greater focus on mental health. With this youth fitness package, we recognize that we have a unique opportunity to help these kids develop healthy coping mechanisms earlier on in life. Given the current global situation, there is no excuse for us not to try and reach out and provide our expertise to these kids.

What will the personal training sessions look like?

Every personal training session is designed to teach new skills and provide useful lifestyle tips and tricks. The overall goal is to help the youth clientele see how exercise, nutrition, sleep, and stress management techniques can be used to live a healthy and happy life. Each personal training session will build on the next and they will see how progressive overload can be used to improve their fitness from week-to-week.

The nutrition topics we will cover include a discussion about the role that macronutrients play in our lives. They will also learn the true nutritional value of why they should eat more fruits and veggies. We will also discuss moderation in terms of processed foods, sugar, and other foods that are less nutritionally dense.

We’ve taken special care to make sure that the language we use around food and nutrition does not encourage an unhealthy relationship with food, but rather a balanced and wholesome view of food. Food will be seen as the fuel that has the potential to increase energy, help with sleep, and provide the resources necessary for the repair and recovery of the body.

Who Is Best Suited to the Program?

We are accepting teens and pre-teens aged 10-20 years old. If the youth client is 18 years old or younger, we will require their parent or legal guardian’s signature on their intake forms. We are also operating on the assumption that every participant in the program has taken part in P.E. classes or some type of physical activity and are comfortable with trying new exercises. Beyond that, we are hoping that the youth clients who join us are eager to learn, are open to new concepts, and will hopefully be curious and ask questions about personal training, nutrition, and healthy stress management.

What is the cost of the program?

The youth fitness package costs $96 + tax. If you have purchased an intro package you will be familiar with this price. This package can be purchased on our the Free Form Fitness MindBody store.

How will it be delivered?

The client will meet with their trainer virtually via zoom. If and when we re-open we will be offering the program in-studio and virtually. In the case of city or province-wide lockdowns, we will continue to offer this program virtually.
