What Should I do in Between Sessions?

Hello FFF Family,

You may be wondering “What am I suppose to do those days when I don’t see you in person?” We understand that the time between your training sessions can be just as crucial as the sessions themselves. We only see you for a small portion out of the week, so ensure you’re making the most out of your days off, here are five essential activities to keep you on track, both physically and mentally.

1. Walk Your Way to Wellness

Walking might seem simple, but it’s a powerful and accessible form of exercise. Lace up those sneakers and take a brisk walk around your neighborhood or local park. It’s a fantastic way to get some fresh air and clear your mind. Start with 15 minutes a day and slowly build up until you can comfortably walk for 30 minutes.

2. Stretch and Mobilize

Enhance your flexibility and prevent injury by incorporating stretching and mobility exercises into your routine. Spend some time working on areas of tightness or discomfort, paying extra attention to muscles you’ve targeted during your training sessions. Yoga or Pilates can be excellent choices to improve both flexibility and core strength.

3. Get in your Cardio

During your sessions we focus on getting you stronger! We don’t need to stand around while you’re on the treadmill, so in between sessions at FFF is the perfect time to focus on cardio. Whether you prefer running, cycling, or another form of cardio exercise, the key is to elevate your heart rate. Engaging in cardiovascular activities helps improve cardiovascular health, burn calories, and boosts your overall endurance. Choose an activity you enjoy to make it a sustainable part of your routine. Ask your trainer to help you plan this out – they’ll give you a challenging, but manageable goal!

4. Get Homework from Your Trainer

Your trainer is your fitness guide, even on the days you don’t meet face-to-face. Ask them for a personalized workout routine to follow between sessions. This homework can focus on specific areas you want to target, ensuring you’re working toward your goals consistently. Your trainer will be thrilled to provide you with exercises that complement your in-person sessions.

5. Embrace Rest Days When Needed

Listen to your body. If you’re feeling fatigued or your muscles are particularly sore, it’s okay to take a rest day. Rest is a crucial component of any fitness program, allowing your body to recover and adapt to the challenges you’ve put it through. Don’t see rest as a setback – view it as an essential part of the journey toward a stronger, healthier you.

In between your personal training sessions, it’s essential to strike a balance between staying active and allowing your body to recover. Incorporate a mix of walking, stretching, cardio, and, when needed, rest days into your routine. Communicate with your trainer to receive personalized guidance, ensuring your efforts align with your unique fitness goals.

Remember, the journey to fitness is a marathon, not a sprint. Consistency is key, and what you do between sessions can make all the difference. Keep up the fantastic work, and we’ll see you at the next session, ready to conquer new challenges together!
