YouTube is one of the more enjoyable ways to get information these days. Most of the health and fitness YouTubers are in their 20’s and 30’s. Although their content is fun and informative, we wanted to compile a list of YouTubers for those of you over 40.
Over 60’s!

Believe it or not, there is a small group of YouTubers who are over 60. These YouTubers focus on healthy ageing and find fun and practical products and “life-hacks” to keep them feeling young and spry.
Sixty & Me is a whole YouTube channel dedicated to women in their 60’s. Margaret Manning is the woman who runs the channel with over 100,000 subscribers. Her bio says it best “ Sixty and Me is a community for bold and fearless women who are excited to be 60 years old and want to create a new lifestyle – independent, healthy and financially secure.” We suggest you start by watching her video on 15 healthy eating tips for women over 60.
She has plenty of videos on exercise, nutrition, and lifestyle to help women make the most of their 60’s.
Mr. Olympia himself – who could be a better male fitness influencer than the creator of the Arnold Classic? Although not all of his YouTube videos are related to health and fitness, he is an enjoyable and relatable watch for those gentlemen out there over 60.
A fun video to start with on his channel would be his “undercover” attempt at working at Gold’s Gym. The video was made to promote health and fitness and the After-School All-Star’s program.
Fabulous and 50+
Our next category includes men and women in their 50’s. To start off we have the Australian YouTuber, Schellea Fowler, who provides helpful tips to women in their 50’s to help them feel fit, fashionable, and fabulous.
We recommend you check out her video on the best amazon workout gear to help you work out and stay fit and healthy at home – a perfect video these times of social distancing!
For men in their 50’s there are plenty of 1-off videos of men in their 50’s who have gotten in great shape. So here are a few videos of a few men in their 50’s who are in great shape!
Training Brad Pitt with Celebrity Trainer Mike Ryan (the trainer who got him in shape for Fight Club)

Fitness in your 40’s
Laura London is a fun and inspiring YouTuber who writes in her bio “Losing 30 lbs., fixing my hormones and getting in shape in my 40’s has changed the course of my life. I am here to teach you how you can be fit and fabulous at any age.” She posts workout videos that you can do from the comforts of your home and helps to educate women on training concepts like afterburn and EPOC.
We recommend you start by watching her video on afterburn and EPOC and learn more about the benefits of strength training for women in their 40’s.
For the male side of YouTube, we recommend checking out AthleanX. He is super knowledgeable and speaks to the issues that many men care about. His YouTube channel has over 10 million subscribers, and the plethora of content is all the proof you need to know that this guy is the real deal.
There are free workouts and training concept breakdowns that will help you feel better informed in the gym and in your daily life. We recommend you check out his 29 Home Workout Hacks to help you see your household items as fitness equipment and make the most of your time at home.
30’s & Under
There are a lot of YouTubers in their 20’s and 30’s who are all working hard to bring you the best fitness and lifestyle information. If you have a specific question or want to see someone who actually lives a raw vegan or carnivore lifestyle, chances are you will be able to find someone around your age who has a YouTube channel dedicated to that.
With so many channels in this age group, we recommend doing your research on these YouTubers. See if they have any real coaching experience or if they have any formal qualifications for what they are speaking about. Do they refer to research studies in their videos, or are they based on their personal experience?
The final thing to remember when watching YouTubers in this demographic is that they are all coming from their own individual history of health and fitness. They may have grown up an athlete, and therefore being healthy and fit comes more naturally to them. If they make it look easy to look the way they do, it is probably because – biologically – it is for them. Just keep that in mind as you watch those YouTubers.
YouTube can be a fun and easy way to learn more about health and fitness. As with all information you get online, be sure to check with your trainer or your physician before trying anything new to make sure it is suited to your lifestyle and fitness level.
