4 Gym Bag Essentials for your Post-Corona Sessions

The coronavirus has changed the way we live our lives. New working-from-home setups and limits on how many people can gather in a park are examples of this “new normal”. The gym will be no exception to these changes. To help you prepare for the gym post-COVID-19, we have compiled a list of 4 gym-bag essentials for your post-corona sessions.

Mask & Gloves

Right after packing your gym clothes, you should pack your protective gear. Although we will have some masks available, it is always better to bring your own mask and gloves. By wearing a mask you will be protecting yourself and your trainer.

Gloves are not required, but they are a good thing to have just in case. Health officials have said that hand washing is more effective than wearing gloves, but if you feel safer by wearing gloves, then we encourage you to do so.

Hand Sanitizer

After you’ve packed your protective gear, it is time to pack your hand sanitizer. We have always had hand sanitizer available to clients, and we will continue to do so.

With that said, bringing your own hand sanitizer means that you do not have to use the shared hand sanitizer at the gym. Less interaction with shared surfaces, the greater chance that we keep germs to ourselves.

We will also be requiring all clients to sanitize their hands before and after sessions. If you have your own sanitizer with you, this process can occur much faster, giving you more time with your trainer.

Health officials have stated that hand sanitizing is a great way to limit the spread of germs, but you should also be washing your hands before leaving for the gym, as well as when you arrive at home/back at the office.

Water Bottle

Chances are you were already bringing your water bottle to sessions. Now it is even more important to bring your own water bottle to the gym.

Similarly to the shared hand sanitizer, the water station in the gym is a shared space. By bringing your own water bottle to the gym, you will spend less time at the water station. Less time at the water station means more time with your trainer!

Disinfectant Wipes

We want you to know that we will be stepping up our current thorough cleaning protocols to minimize the spread of germs in our facilities. With that said, having your own disinfectant wipes in your bag means that you have control over the surfaces that you will come in contact with.

For example, if you’re using the change rooms, you can give the door handle, or the seat a quick wipe down. Disinfectant wipes are more for your individual peace of mind, but it also helps us keep the facilities extra clean as well.

You can trust that our facilities will be safe spaces when we decide to reopen them. We want to make you feel safe so that you can focus on getting a great workout and crushing your goals again. Make yourself a check-list of these items and check them off before every session to ensure you are always ready to go to the gym.
