Personal trainers at Free Form Fitness undergo a rigorous 10 step hiring process. In order to join our team, personal trainers require a high level of personality, education and life experience. All our personal trainers must then undergo Free Form Academy a sister company where we teach them to be the best.
On your first visit, we will determine two personal trainers who will best suit your needs. To ensure your on-going satisfaction, we ask that you rate each lesson with your personal trainer. Managers oversee ratings every day and will communicate with you if your expectations are not being met.
This is the starting point to providing you with a consistent high quality service that delivers results.
Ashley began working part-time with Free Form Fitness in 2007 at the behest of her brother, founder Jean-Luc Boissonneault, while still pursuing a business diploma at Algonquin College. She quickly moved into a full-time managerial role, and today serves as President, keeping the business of FFF in top shape at all locations.
Ashley often draws upon past work experience, in high-end salons and spas, for inspiration on how to take that model for exceptional, personalized service and apply it in the personal training environment.FFF
Lindsay has lead the team at the Wellington Village location and lead the team at our Glebe location. In fact, she was first a client who came to us to lose some weight and get back into shape, but she liked Free Form Fitness so much, she decided to get into the fitness industry and join the company. She has been so highly effective, she is now overseeing all Ottawa locations. Lindsay has a criminology degree from the University of Ottawa and has been in management roles since graduating, including seven years as a team leader with Ottawa Victims Service. In her free time, she enjoys the cottage, being outside and active, kickboxing, running with her dog, and just relaxing at home watching a movie. FFF

Growing up in Ottawa Alex struggled with her weight along with health issues like chronic heartburn and painful stomach inflammation. After many years of visiting doctors and hospitals with no solution she did some research on her own and changed her diet and lifestyle until the pain had completely gone. Along the way she managed to lose all the extra weight she had been carrying around and felt amazing about her body and living without constant pain. She found her calling and decided helping others with their health is what she wanted to do. Move better, eat better, live better. This is the philosophy Vania follows to help improve the lives of her clients. With a background in human kinetics, and her certification as exercise physiologist, she is always striving to ensure clients know how to move properly to stay healthy and pain-free. Vania previously worked at the University of Ottawa’s physiotherapy clinic, and she completed an internship at the Ottawa Heart Institute’s cardiac rehab program. She holds a Masters in human kinetics from the University of Ottawa. She is also the managing director for Free Form Academy personal training course. In her free time, Vania enjoys playing soccer, cycling, hiking and pretending to be a culinary wiz. FFF
Dalia Meghaizel is a passionate fitness professional who is committed to success on every level. She is a CSEP-CPT Certified personal trainer and graduate of the Fitness and Health Promotion Program at Algonquin College. Dalia’s eagerness to learn gives her a competitive edge in the fitness industry.
Her drive and dedication to the world of personal training allows her to feel as passionate about your goals as you are. Dalia is always striving to help you become the best person you can be, not only physically but in all aspects of life. Jesse’s passion for fitness started early in his life. Growing up he always enjoyed long distance and cross country running. Shortly after high school he took up long distance biking as well and really started to log in the miles on foot and on the bike. Excessively long cardio sessions and poor lifestyle habits started to show weaknesses in his body. Poor posture, injuries that would never heal, lack of energy, daily acid reflux, were all things he struggled with while try to become a better athlete. This started Jesse on a journey to discover what the human body needs to heal and function at its best.
After realizing the benefits of how lifestyle changes and good weight training principles could impact his life, Jesse was certain that he wanted to use his knowledge to help other people achieve their optimal health and performance. Jesse’s approach bridges ancestral wisdom and modern knowledge to help clients achieve their goals. Jesse is a certified personal trainer and is also a CHEK Institute Exercise Coach and Holistic Lifestyle Coach. In his spare time, Jesse enjoys being outdoors in nature, camping, and gathering wild food. He loves reading and listens to a wide variety of music. Jesse also credits martial arts as great source of his personal growth and is a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and also trains in Kickboxing.FFF

It is Lori’s view that defining and embracing a healthy lifestyle is an ongoing journey. As a fitness professional, Lori wants to guide individuals to improve their overall health and wellbeing, and to teach others how to balance this out with their daily lives. Lori enjoys training with people from across the spectrum but is also an Older Adult fitness specialist.
Since an early age, Lori has found physical activity to be a healthy and enjoyable outlet. While serving time in the militia reserve for a summer, Lori was inspired by the physical challenges and how it transformed her body. From this point forward, physical fitness became a priority in her life. Lori graduated from Ottawa University with an Honors Degree in Recreation and has been working in the recreation and fitness industry for a combined 10 plus years.
Lori brings extensive experience as a Personal Trainer, specializing in customized one-on-one training, and has enhanced her skills through ongoing education and by volunteering as a group fitness instructor. To Lori living a healthy lifestyle begins with having a positive mindset and a realistic plan to achieve these goals. Her basic motto is to get up, get moving and get started with your plan. FFF
Since an early age, Danielle has always been fascinated with the human condition and passionate about helping people live happier, healthier and more fulfilling lives. This led her to various paths, including achieving a diploma in Natural Nutrition, teaching Yoga for several years, getting a Masters in Counselling Psychology and now becoming a certified Personal Trainer.
From personal and professional experience in both the mental health and fitness fields, Danielle believes strongly in the connection between physical health and mental/emotional well-being. That is, being mobile and strong in our bodies, as well as eating whole foods, not only improves our health and fitness, but also improves our confidence, self- esteem and mental strength. Her mission is to empower others to feel great in their body as well as their mind.
Danielle is also certified in Agatsu Joint Mobility and Movement Level 1 and considers herself first and foremost a student. “Jon is a CSEP-CPT personal trainer and enthusiastic graduate of the Fitness and Health Promotion Program at Algonquin College. Fitness has always played a major role in Jon’s life growing up. FFF was exactly his calling and he even completed a five week placement. This company matched all of his values. Throughout his childhood and teenage years he played competitive soccer, baseball and basketball. It was during his last year of high school that his older brother peeked his interest into weight lifting. Jon used the discipline and passion he gained from sports to further his journey into the world of weights. He believes it is his duty to transform clients into their peek physical and mental shape to effectively achieve the most out of their life. Where does Catherine’s story begin? It begins with a grade school teacher, who became a stay-at-home mom who transitioned into a fashion coordinator, before landing herself a gig on national television as co-host of The Mom Show. In 2005, she interviewed a woman who had experienced a dramatic life change after only a few short months working with a personal trainer. This inspired Catherine to get into better shape. Over the next few years, she achieved a number of personal goals; she ran her first marathon, competed in figure competitions and indoor rowing competitions. Her love for all things fitness led her, at last, to become a personal trainer. If you don’t find Catherine at the gym or spending time with her kids (four!), she’s likely shoe shopping – yeah, she has a little bit of a problem! FFF
Luzia is originally from Brazil, and moved to Canada in 2013 to start her Ph.D in Human Kinetics at University of Ottawa, specializing in weight loss, food reward, impulsivity and energy intake. She is a bachelor in Kinesiology, graduated at the State University of Maringa, Brazil (2008), and she holds a Masters Degree (2012) with specialization in physical activity and health from the same university. During her undergrad and master, Luzia worked as a personal trainer and as a group exercise instructor in different gyms and studios in Brazil. During this time, she also had been involved in different research projects, being an integrant of the Multiprofessional Centre of Obesity Treatment for longer than 7 years.FFF
Growing up, Ryan’s love for the game of hockey pushed him to remain healthy and fit. But he’s only been able to remain active thanks to 50 surgeries and his “no quit” attitude. Ryan uses his knowledge of biomechanics and human kinetics, and his training as a fascial stretch therapist, to get you on the right track for success. He uses strength and conditioning techniques, and assisted stretching techniques, to allow you to perform better, recover faster, and reduce your risk of injury. In addition to working as a personal trainer with clients, who come from all walks of life, Ryan also trains CIS, CFL, AHL and NHL athletes. In his spare time, he heads to his cottage with friends, travels, or just hangs out on the drums. FFF
Michael has always been physically active and wrestled at the national level through high school and college. He is a certified personal trainer and has been a member of our Kanata team for more than five years, Mike is passionate and committed to helping a variety of clients get into the best shape of their lives. Ongoing education is a big part of his work as a personal trainer. He attends several courses and workshops every year, including the Eleiko Strength Summit, where he once worked with the National Swedish Weight Lifting Team. He is also a bio signature practitioner under the Poliquin Group. In his spare time, Michael enjoys cooking, reading and attending heavy metal festivals. FFF
Monique grew up in a small town in New-Brunswick. Her urge to see and learn new things brought her in Ottawa where she graduated from the University of Ottawa with a bachelor specialized in social work. Always been aware of her health and the importance of physical activity, she eventually developed a passion and wanted to invest herself in it even more by competing in fitness competitions and became obsessed with research. After working in the social work field for a while, she realized that what she really wanted to do in life was to combine her ability to help others and passion to fitness together. She then became a certified personal trainer. She believes that fitness should be a routine. FFF
Nicolas was born and raised in the gym! Coming from a military family being physically active and fit was a requirement. Nicolas played competitive Hockey during his teen years and once his family moved to Belgium played for a Division 2 and 3 semi-professional hockey team. He also played for a Division 1 high school American Football as a Line-Backer and a Full-Back and won Division 1 Soccer Championship as a Stopper. Nicolas is a well-rounded Athlete in every way. Nicolas is a graduate Algonquin’s Fitness and Health Promotion program, is a Certified Personal Trainer and certified in the Level 1 Derby Training System. Being a passionate athlete, Nicolas will encourage you to achieve the best version of yourself with his drive and positive attitude!FFF
Eric’s upbringing in a small town in northern Ontario made him a true outdoorsman and motivated athlete. Throughout high school, he played with numerous sports teams. Competitive hockey helped him become fit and sparked his interest to study human kinetics at the University of Ottawa.
In fact, his skill on the ice earned him a hockey scholarship in Virginia, but he decided to stay close to his roots in Ontario. A love of physical fitness and nutrition inspired him to become a certified personal trainer. Eric’s ability to be fully invested in whatever project or goal he’s reaching to achieve is a crucial element in his successes thus far. He is always looking to motivate and educate others to live a healthier lifestyle. FFF
Matt grew up on the Mississippi River in Carleton Place where at a young age he was put into competitive water skiing and wake-boarding. Years of hard work lead him to compete nationally in 2007 for wake-boarding. Matt has been involved in a wide range of sports and loves being a team player and just wanting to be around a positive atmosphere. Once he graduated high school he knew he wanted to help people reach their fitness goals. He attended Kingston college and graduated in 2010 through Fitness and Health Promotion (diploma) taught by the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology. He has worked in the fitness field now for 5 years and has taught at some of the most respected facility’s in Ottawa. Working daily with seniors, the general public and athletes. Also, he is a member of Can-Fit-Pro as one of there Pro-Trainers.FFF
I grew up with 2 brothers and 1 sister who all went on to play University and Collegiate Athletics. We were all gym rats who loved competing and winning. I was always the skinny kid with athletic talent but no strength. I always had a hard time putting on muscle. As I got older, sports became more competitive. I knew if I wanted to succeed I would need to get stronger. That meant eating the right foods and getting my myself into a gym routine. I didn’t start weight training until I was in College. I fell in love with the way my body responded to the grueling workouts. My talent was with a basketball. I was awarded a scholarship and I played out my basketball career with The Algonquin Thunder. In my senior year, we finished 5th in the Country. I’m a firm believer that hard work will always pay off. I preach this to my clients because I’m a prime example of it. Now as a certified personal trainer, my goals are to help reach my clients full health potential. FFF

My journey began about 4 years ago. I looked at myself in the mirror and did not like what i saw. I told myself i would never look like that anymore. Started doing my own research on training and nutrtition. After going on my own and getting amazing results for 2 years, I saw on facebook that Free Form Fitness was offering a personal trainer course. I figured, why not share my passion with others and help them get amazing results aswell. I signed up, and here I am today! Fitness, health and nutrition are now a passion of mine and have been since the day I told myself it was enough. It completely turned my life around, i have more energy, more confidance, more strenght and better self esteem. I wish to help people feel the same way I feel, because a happy life is a good life. Ryan sees it as his “personal duty” to motivate and educate his clients on their individual journeys to turn fat into muscle and weakness to strength through permanent lifestyle changes. His inspiration comes from the wisest of the wise, Jedi Master Yoda: “Do, or do not, there is no try.” This guitar strummer brings a diverse wealth of life experiences to his work, having been a weight lifter for 10 years and trained as a fire assay technician. In addition to his personal trainer certification, he is also certified in nutrition and wellness and postural anatomy. FFF
For Ryan, the hard work and commitment required to achieve success relies on trust between trainer and client, and a firm belief that, no matter how challenging the journey, it could always be worse. He’s been active in sports since a young age and likes hitting the free weights. Outside the gym, he’d rather burn gears, off-roading in his jeep. Ryan got into the fitness industry at the age of 16 and has a personal training certification from the Sport Performance Institute, as well as a Fitness and Health Promotion certificate. FFF
Joey is a very enthusiastic and charismatic person who loves to make people laugh and have fun while exercising. “Exercising should feel like a break from our every day life, not just another job or chore”. Joey grew up playing competitive hockey and has always played team sports. He is a true people person who has worked with people of all ages. In high school, he volunteered as a hockey coach for youth ages 8-12. Upon graduating high school, Joey enrolled in the Canadian Armed Forces and served for 6 years. FFF
Born and raised in a small town south of Ottawa, Patrick is the oldest of four. When he was younger Patrick loved to watch TV shows like Ninja Turtles and Power Ranger leading his parents to sign him up for karate. Since the dojo he practiced at was fairly new; Patrick was always one of the higher belts in the class so his Sensei had him helping instruct lower belts. This is where he discovered his enjoyment of teaching and helping others.
Twenty years later Patrick is now a Yondan (4th degree black belt). Looking to further his education, Patrick graduated Fitness and Health Promotions at Algonquin College and became CSEP certified. His goal now is to help clients find enjoyment in exercise and to not a see it as a chore so that they can live a long and healthy life. FFF

Brad has spent his entire life heavily involved in a variety of competitive sports including soccer, lacrosse, hockey and baseball. Perhaps his greatest accomplishment being the privilege of pitching for Team Ontario on 3 different occasions in the Canadian Championships for Big League Baseball. Brad credits his experience with team sports in teaching him how his own individual efforts and accomplishments can effect the success of many. His experiences with exceptional coaching taught him the power of leadership and positive direction.FFF
